Today, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), Chairwoman of the House Committee on Financial Services, announced the following witnesses for the May 6 full committee virtual hearing entitled: “Game Stopped? Who Wins and Loses When Short Sellers, Social Media, and Retail Investors Collide, Part III.”

- Michael Bodson, President and Chief Executive Officer, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation
- Robert Cook, President and Chief Executive Officer, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc
The virtual hearing will be held on May 6 at 12:00 PM ET.
On February 18, Chairwoman Waters held the Committee’s first hearing on market volatility involving GameStop and other stocks, with testimony from the CEOs of Robinhood, Citadel, Melvin Capital, Reddit, and retail investor Keith Gill.
On March 17, Chairwoman Waters held a second hearing on market volatility involving GameStop and other stocks to hear from experts and investor advocates regarding regulatory gaps illuminated by these events, and to assess possible legislative steps to protect investors.
