Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), the top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, led a delegation of Committee Democrats, including Representatives Al Green (D-TX), Bill Foster (D-IL), Joyce Beatty (D-OH), and Sean Casten (D-IL), in a meeting with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The meeting focused on how the IMF is fulfilling its core mandates to promote economic and financial stability and provide policy advice and capacity development support to help countries build and maintain strong economies.
This meeting marks one of a series of visits to agencies and institutions that Ranking Member Waters has led this Congress, including to the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, and the World Bank.
