Waters Announces Updates to April Committee Schedule and May Hearings

Today, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), Chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee, announced several Committee hearings and a markup:

Tuesday, April 30 at 10:00 AM – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “Housing in America: Assessing the Infrastructure Needs of America’s Housing Stock.”

Tuesday, April 30 at 2:00 PM – The Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions will convene a hearing entitled, “Ending Debt Traps in the Payday and Small Dollar Credit Industry.”

Wednesday, May 1 at 10:00 AM – The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will convene a hearing entitled, “Examining Discrimination in the Automobile Loan and Insurance Industries.”

Wednesday, May 1 at 2:00 PM – The Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion will convene a hearing entitled, “Good for the Bottom Line: A Review of the Business Case for Diversity and Inclusion.”

Wednesday, May 8 at 10:00 AM – The Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development and Insurance will convene a hearing entitled, “A Review of the State of and Barriers to Minority Homeownership.”

Wednesday, May 8 at 2:00 PM – The full Committee will convene for a markup.

Thursday, May 9 at 10:00 AM – The full Committee will convene for a continuation of the May 8 markup.

Wednesday, May 15 at 10:00 AM – The Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets will convene a hearing entitled, “Promoting Economic Growth: A Review of Proposals to Strengthen the Rights and Protections for Workers.”

Wednesday, May 15 at 2:00 PM – The Subcommittee on National Security, International Development and Monetary Policy will convene a hearing entitled, “Assessing the Use of Sanctions in Addressing National Security and Foreign Policy Challenges.”

Thursday, May 16 at 10:00 AM – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “Oversight of Prudential Regulators: Ensuring the Safety, Soundness and Accountability of Megabanks and Other Depository Institutions.”

Tuesday, May 21 at 10:00 AM – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “Housing in America: Oversight of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.”

Please note that the Full Committee hearing entitled, “The Annual Testimony of the Secretary of the Treasury on the State of the International Financial System,” which began on April 9 will be continued on a date to be determined in May and the schedule will change to accommodate the Secretary’s testimony.
