Waters Congratulates CDFI Fund Director Donna Gambrell for her Years of Service

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, today congratulated Donna Gambrell, Director of the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund), on her 37 years of public service. Gambrell recently announced her retirement, effective on December 28, 2013.
Waters released the following statement: “For six years, Donna Gambrell has ushered the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) into a new era of success and achievement. Under her stewardship, the CDFI Fund’s appropriations have increased fourfold, which has led to new award programs, an increased emphasis on customer service and innovation, and a transformation of low-income communities across this country. This has stimulated the economy, spurred job creation and helped small businesses. “More importantly, Director Gambrell has demonstrated a passion, dedication and commitment that has been nothing short of exemplary. I congratulate her for her accomplishments, for her 37 years of public service, and role as an African American leader.” ### |
