Frank Lauds Choice of Humphrey to Head CFPB Office of Older Americans
Barney Frank today released the following statement in response to the announcement by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that Hubert H. “Skip” Humphrey III has been chosen to head the new CFPB Office of Older Americans.
“The appointment of former Minnesota Attorney General, Hubert H. Humphrey III, to head the CFPB Office of Older Americans continues a pattern of excellent choices by this important agency. I am especially pleased to note the addition of another former attorney general to the top ranks of the agency because attorneys general have been at the forefront of consumer protection. One of our goals in establishing the CFPB was to create, at the federal level, a capacity and willingness to defend consumers that has long been present in the states but not nationally.”
