Leading Supporters to Host Media Availability on Final Passage of Ex-Im Reauthorization
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Immediately following votes on final passage of H.R. 22, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), Ranking Member of the Committee on Financial Services, will host a press conference TODAY, December 3, 2015 at 1:15 p.m., to celebrate the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank, which has supported the creation of hundreds of thousands of American jobs and enabled thousands of U.S. export businesses to compete in foreign markets.
The press conference will feature leading supporters of renewing the export credit agency, including Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Monetary Policy and Trade Subcommittee Ranking Member Gwen Moore (D-WI), and Rep. Denny Heck (D-WA), among other key supporters. The event caps off two years of advocacy for the Bank’s renewal and follows the historic execution of the discharge petition – a parliamentary tool that has only been used five times in U.S. history successfully – to bring reauthorization legislation to the House floor.
