Chairwoman Waters Announces Updates to February Schedule


On Wednesday, Chairwoman Maxine Waters announced several Committee hearings for the month of February. Due to scheduling changes in the House of Representatives, Chairwoman Waters has announced the following updates to the Committee’s schedule.

  • Wednesday, February 13 at 10:00 AM – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “Homeless in America: Examining the Crisis and Solutions to End Homelessness.” 
  • Wednesday, February 13 at 2:00 PM – The Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions Subcommittee will convene a hearing entitled, “Challenges and Solutions: Access to Banking Services for Cannabis-Related Businesses.”
  •  Thursday, February 14 at 10 AM – The Housing, Community Development, and Insurance Subcommittee will convene a hearing entitled, “The Affordable Housing Crisis in Rural America: Assessing the Federal Response.”
  • Tuesday, February 26 at 10:00 AM – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “Who’s Keeping Score? Holding Credit Bureaus Accountable and Repairing a Broken System.”
  • Wednesday, February 27 at 10:00 AM – The full Committee will convene the semiannual Humphrey-Hawkins hearing entitled, “Monetary Policy and the State of the Economy,” with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
  • Wednesday, February 27 at 2:00 PM – The Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee will convene a hearing entitled, “Diversity Trends in the Financial Services Industry.”
  •  POSTPONED: Date & Time to be announced later – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “The Use of Sanctions and Economic Statecraft in Addressing U.S. National Security and Foreign Policy Challenges” at a date to be determined.

Hearings and markups will take place in 2128 Rayburn House Office Building and will be broadcast live on https://democrats-financialservices.house.gov/.

Committee activities are finalized once an official notice is issued by the House Financial Services Committee, and the Committee may announce additional hearings this month. Visit https://democrats-financialservices.house.gov/ for the most up-to-date Committee schedule.
