Waters, Tri-Caucus to Release Committee Democratic Staff Report on Diversity at Financial Services Agencies

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), Ranking Member of the Committee on Financial Services, will join representatives and chairs of the tri-caucus to unveil a report, highlighting federal financial services agencies’ current compliance with federal diversity provisions, trends in performance review evaluations and workforce diversity throughout these agencies.

During the event, participants will discuss their reaction to the data, which was compiled over the course of six months using annual Office of Women and Minority Inclusion reports as well as performance reviews and independent audit reports from Inspectors General at seven agencies including the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Office of the Comptroller and Currency (OCC), the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC).

Among the findings contained in the report, Democratic staff found that minorities and women continue to be underrepresented in financial services agency workforces. According to the report, minorities and women are also woefully absent from the senior management when compared to rates of participation in the general workforce across all agencies surveyed.
