Committee Passes Five Bills
This week, the House Financial Services Committee convened a full Committee markup and passed the following legislation.
- HR 1988, the Protect Affordable Mortgages for Veterans Act of 2019, introduced by Rep. David Scott (D-GA) and Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY).
- HR 2409, the Expanding Access to Capital for Rural Job Creators Act, introduced by Rep. Cindy Axne (D-IA) and Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV).
- HR 2514, the Coordinating Oversight, Upgrading and Innovating Technology, and Examiner Reform Act (COUNTER Act), introduced by Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) and Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH).
- HR 2515, the Whistleblower Protection Reform Act, introduced by Rep. Al Green (D-TX) and Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI).
- HR 2534, the Insider Trading Prohibition Act, introduced by Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT).

Chairwoman Waters Announces Task Forces
